Chico, California: Ordinance banning the non-sale distribution of tobacco samples in the City of Chico

Pendleton, Oregon: Ordinance banning the distribution of free tobacco samples at public events, including the PRCA Pendleton Round-Up Rodeo

Two tools have been developed by the Technical Assistance Legal Center (TALC) to help communities ban the distribution of free tobacco products and coupons at events sponsored by the tobacco industry. Although both are designed for California communities, they can be adapted for use in other states.

Ardmore, Oklahoma: Voluntary policy banning tobacco sponsorship at the Circle L Roundup Rodeo

"Publicity (including but not limited to fliers, advertisements, commercials, etc.) can NOT have the following:

Any promotion of alcohol, tobacco or other Drugs
No explicit sexual material"
